We are extremely lucky to live in Scarborough, and we are sure you will enjoy the many attractions that Scarborough has to offer, and also places of interest near by (we are of course slightly biased, as we have lived here all our lives!)
Scarborough has 2 wonderful beaches, divided by the castle headland, with the stunning castle looking down onto them. There's fun to be had by all on the south beach with it's many amusement arcades, shops and of course the traditional fish and chips restaurants, and the donkey rides. You can have a trip on a pirate ship or take to the waves in a speed boat. The north bay is the quieter beach, but you can still have fun making sand castles, take a ride on the miniture railway, and enjoy an ice-cream. If it's raining there's also the indoor swimming pool or the cinema. Peasholm Park is a beautiful attraction; where you can feed the ducks, ride a peddle boat swan, have a round of pitch and putt, or watch the famous miniture war ships battle. The Sealife Centre is a great place to visit, and there's plenty of shops and entertainment.
There's superb walks, cycle routes, fishing, and sailing.
Other nearby attractions include Filey, Bridlington, Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Heartbeat, York, North Yorkshire National Park, The Wolds, Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Castle Howard, Flamingo Land, Eden Camp War Museum, Hornsea Freeport and many more.
